Major Moscow's Attacks Eliminate Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the city experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

He said utility staff and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
