Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an better service.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to create a final set.
He rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
